Compassion House Foundation is a non-profit, charitable organization based in Edmonton that supports women from across western Canada who must leave their home for cancer care. The Foundation operates Sorrentino’s Compassion House, a haven for women who must travel to Edmonton for cancer treatment. Since opening in 2002, more than 1,700 women from 284 communities have stayed at the House.
Unique in Alberta, it is more than just a house. Guests arrive knowing they have safe, affordable accommodations for the duration of their treatment and leave with so much more: friendships, support, and renewed hope for the future. Once guests return home, the Foundation continues to support them through much-needed post-treatment programs focused on continued healing. Syncrude presents the Fashion with Compassion Annual Event to support the Compassion House Foundation and the operation the House.
